LMF Flowers & Design Studio is based at the historic Art 634 building by appointment only:
634 N. Mechanic St. Jackson, Michigan 49202
Choosing LMF Flowers & Design Studio:
Because LMF Flowers is a locally-operated, small business, rest assured that you will be given personal attention from Elaine.
Together with her husband, Ben Mohlenhoff, Elaine is looking forward to bringing affordable, sustainable, and beautiful flowers to the county of Jackson, Michigan. And when possible, sourcing from local farmers while avoiding plastics and foams.
Every year, LMF Flowers strives to give back to the community by donating proceeds to a Jackson County non-profit organization. In the past, we have been able to make donations to the Jackson YMCA, Jackson School of the Arts, and the Jackson Junior Welfare League.
The Origin of LMF Flowers & Design Studio:
LMF Flowers is short for Lok-Mohlenhoff Family Flowers.
In 1911, Henry William Dietrich Mohlenhoff, a German immigrant, established The Mohlenhoff Family Farm on Staten Island, New York. The farm consisted of 32 acres and produced vegetables and fruits — eventually growing flowers and plants. Today the farm is called the Greenbelt Native Plant Center, part of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. It operates as a 13–acre greenhouse, seed bank, and nursery.
The Lok family name is a Chinese/Cantonese surname, often romanized as Lo, Law, Luo, Loh, Loc, or Locke. It means “of the land.”
Elaine Lok, Owner & Designer, LMF Flowers & Design Studio
Elaine found her true passion through floral design after studying photography at the College for Creative Studies. Like, any artistic medium, Elaine finds creating arrangements with fresh flowers and verdant foliage, a wonderful way to engage all five of your senses!
